Biografia. David Herbert Lawrence nasceu em Eastwood em 1885. Estudou na Universidade de Nottingham e exerceu professorado, que teve de abandonar em 1913 por doença, dedicando-se então à Literatura. Em 1912, D. H. Lawrence foge para a Alemanha com Frida Weekly, mulher do seu antigo professor de línguas.
