Majors and Concentrations. Columbia University School of General Studies offers the following majors and concentrations. Students at GS must complete a major to receive a bachelor’s degree. Students may also wish to pursue a concentration, which is optional and provides students the opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge in a secondary field.
