Cleve Barry Moler is an American mathematician and computer programmer specializing in numerical analysis. In the mid to late 1970s, he was one of the authors of LINPACK and EISPACK , Fortran libraries for numerical computing.
Cleve Moler is a professor of math and computer science who cofounded MathWorks in 1989. He is the author of the first version of MATLAB, the LINPACK and EISPACK subroutine libraries, and the author of several textbooks and online books on numerical methods and MATLAB.
