  1. Charles Stewart Hardinge, 2nd Viscount Hardinge (2 September 1822 – 28 July 1894), was a British Conservative politician. Hardinge was the son of Field Marshal Henry Hardinge, 1st Viscount Hardinge, and Lady Emily Jane Stewart, daughter of Robert Stewart, 1st Marquess of Londonderry.

  2. Charles Stewart Hardinge was aide-de-comp to his father, Governor-General Sir Henry Hardinge, from 1844 to 1848. In 1847 Sir Henry Hardinge sent four of his sons original sketches to Queen Victoria from India (RCINs 929533, 929534, 929535, 929536), two of which were published in this lithograph volume.

Charles Stewart accompanied his father Henry Hardinge to India in 1844 as his private secretary; Henry Hardinge was Governor-General of India 1844-47.
