Her husband was created Duke of the County of Buckingham and of Normanby on 23 March 1702/03 and Katherine would have been known as the Duchess of those territories. She died on 7 February 1703/04, aged 38, without any further issue from her second marriage, and was buried in Westminster Abbey on 11 February that year.
