Pembroke Castle (Welsh: Castell Penfro) is a medieval castle in the centre of Pembroke, Pembrokeshire in Wales. The castle was the original family seat of the Earldom of Pembroke . A Grade I listed building since 1951, it underwent major restoration during the early 20th century.

Explore The Castle. Our opening hours are 9:30am - 5:30pm with last entry time at 4:30pm. Free guided tours start at 11am, 12pm. 1pm, 2pm & 3pm. There is no need to book tickets in advance. We are now only accepting walk-up customers.
Pembroke Castle is over 900 years old and was the seat of power in West Wales for centuries. Idyllically set on the banks of the river estuary, this mighty fortress is largely intact, and its endless passages, tunnels and stairways are great fun to explore, plus there are super exhibitions, which tell the tale of its medieval life.
History. The place where Pembroke Castle was erected was already inhabited during the Paleolithic period, fortified in the Iron Age, and then used in Roman times and in the early Middle Ages.
