North Carolina ( / ˌkærəˈlaɪnə / ⓘ KARR-ə-LIE-nə) is a state in the Southeastern region of the United States. It borders Virginia to the north, the Atlantic Ocean to the east, South Carolina to the south, Georgia to the southwest, and Tennessee to the west. The state is the 28th-largest and 9th-most populous of the United States.
As of the 2010 census, Cary Township had a population of 74,074. [1] Cary Township, occupying 32.4 square miles (83.9 km 2) in western Wake County, [2] includes the bulk of the town of Cary and portions of the town of Apex and the city of Raleigh. Cary Township contains two high schools: Cary High School (public) and Cary Academy (private).

Carrboro is a town in Orange County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The population was 21,295 at the 2020 census. [5] The town, which is part of the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill combined statistical area, was named after North Carolina industrialist Julian Shakespeare Carr (who never lived in Carrboro).
