Philippine Welser. Charles, Margrave of Burgau, also known as Charles of Austria, (22 November 1560 at Křivoklát Castle in Bohemia – 30 October 1618 in Überlingen [2] ), was the son of Archduke Ferdinand II of Austria and his first morganatic marriage to Philippine Welser. He was the brother of Andrew of Austria .

Esta princesa era hija de Guillermo V el Rico, duque de Jülich-Cléveris-Berg y de la archiduquesa María de Austria, tía paterna de Carlos. Tras su matrimonio, se establecería en el castillo de Günzburg donde tendría una importante corte como margrave de Burgau.

Em 1601, Sibila casou com o seu primo Carlos, Margrave de Burgau, filho morganático do arquiduque Fernando II da Áustria. Em 1610, o casal mudou-se para a sua própria residência em Günzburg.

André [1] (15 de junho de 1558 - 12 de novembro de 1600), tornou-se cardeal em 1576, Margrave de Burgau em 1578, bispo de Constança em 1589 e bispo de Brixen em 1591. Teve dois filhos ilegítimos; Carlos ( 22 de novembro de 1560 - 30 de outubro de 1618 ), marquês de Burgóvia, Conde de Nelemburgo e senhor de Hoemberga.
