An excellent match is arranged with an American businessman, but when he takes his new wife Mary across the border his true character emerges - he sells her into slavery.
Drama based on the life of James Mink, the son of a freed slave who became a respected millionaire businessman in Toronto in the 1850's. Mink and his Irish-immigrant wife find out that their son-in-law, a white American, is a slave trader and has sold their daughter as a slave to a Southern Plantati.
