  5. Benjamin Herschel Babbage b. 1815. Also known as B. H. Babbage. Artist (Draughtsman), Artist (Photographer) Sketcher who trained as an engineer. Babbage was also an amateur photographer, architect, scientist and explorer. His pen-and-ink expedition sketches were shown in Adelaide at the 1859 South Australian Society of Arts exhibition.
