Avrim Blum is a leading expert in machine learning, algorithms, AI, and data science, and the site-director of the NSF TRIPODS Institute for Data, Econometrics, Algorithms, and Learning. He is also a professor and the chief academic officer at the Toyota Technological Institute at Chicago, a PhD-granting computer science department on the University of Chicago campus.
Avrim Louis Blum (born 27 May 1966) is a computer scientist. In 2007, he was made a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery "for contributions to learning theory and algorithms." Blum attended MIT, where he received his Ph.D. in 1991 under professor Ron Rivest.
