   Sir Austen Chamberlain was a British statesman who served as foreign secretary from 1921 to 1929 and rejected the League of Nations's Geneva Protocol in 1925. He was the eldest son of Joseph Chamberlain, the great British statesman known as the «Empire-builder». He died of apoplexy in 1937, the same year he received the Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the Locarno Agreements.
