Lady Arbella Stuart (also Arabella, or Stewart; 1575 – 25 September 1615) was an English noblewoman who was considered a possible successor to Queen Elizabeth I of England. During the reign of King James VI and I (her first cousin), she married William Seymour, 2nd Duke of Somerset, another claimant to the English throne, in secret.

Arbella Stuart was the daughter of Elizabeth Cavendish and Charles Stuart, the great-grandson of Henry VII. She was the only royal princess at the English court and the rightful heir to the throne of England, but she was also a pawn in a power game between Queen Elizabeth and her relatives. She was arrested, tortured, and executed by James I of England in 1615.
