Andy Kanavan (born 23 May 1961) is an English classical musician and multi-instrumentalist. He was best known for his work with post-punk bands Level 9, Foreign Playground and German band Styffe. Kanavan also played briefly with Killing Joke, Enigma, The Maisonettes and Dire Straits.
Enigma is a German musical project founded in 1990 by Romanian-German musician and producer Michael Cretu. [1] . Cretu had released several solo records, collaborated with various artists, and produced albums for his then-wife, German pop singer Sandra, before he conceived the idea of a new-age, worldbeat project.

This album topped the charts in the UK and achieved a peak position of number 6 in the US. It was followed by another successful record “The Cross of Changes”, which dropped during 1993.
Andy Kanavan was briefly with the band as a drummer. Williams would be back in the band for the music videos and the 1985–1986 Brothers in Arms world tour that followed. Released in May 1985, Brothers in Arms entered the UK Albums Chart at number 1 and spent a total of 228 weeks in the charts.
