Andrew Motion (Londen, 26 oktober 1952) is een Engels dichter en prozaschrijver. In 1999 werd hij benoemd tot Poet Laureate als opvolger van de in 1998 overleden Ted Hughes . Bij zijn aanstelling stipuleerde Motion dat hij de functie slechts tien jaar zou bekleden, omdat hij vreesde dat door de functie zijn reguliere literaire werk onder druk zou komen te staan.
He was Poet Laureate from 1999 – 2009. Andrew Motion now lives in Baltimore, U.S.A., where he is currently Homewood Professor of the Arts at Johns Hopkins University. The first was made on 2 December 2004 at the Audio Workshop, London. His second recording was made for the Poetry Archive on 23 April 2015. Both were produced by Richard Carrington.

Sir Andrew Motion is an English poet, novelist, and biographer, who was Poet Laureate from 1999 to 2009. During the period of his laureateship, Motion founded the Poetry Archive, an online resource of poems and audio recordings of poets reading their own work. In 2012, he became President of the Campaign to Protect Rural England, taking over from Bill Bryson.
