    Alcuin of York (/ ˈ æ l k w ɪ n /; Latin: Flaccus Albinus Alcuinus; c. 735 – 19 May 804) – also called Ealhwine, Alhwin, or Alchoin – was a scholar, clergyman, poet, and teacher from York, Northumbria. He was born around 735 and became the student of Archbishop Ecgbert at York.

  5. Alcuin College accommodation. Located at one of the highest points on Campus West, near the library, Alcuin College is organised in blocks around grassy social squares. The accommodation is all ensuite, with kitchens shared between flats and is conveniently located near the ‘Alcuin Bistro’ and ‘The Kitchen’ cafes.

  6. When to arrive. Your undergraduate arrival day is Saturday 16 September 2023. Accommodation Services will email your University of York email account with a link to the induction module and ask you to book a one-hour arrival slot. If you are a postgraduate, you can arrive from the date on your room offer.
