Alan Kay is a pioneer of object-oriented programming languages, Smalltalk, and personal computing. He developed the Dynabook concept, a portable electronic device with graphical interface and mouse. He also influenced the design of the Alto computer and the ARPAnet. He received the A.M. Turing Award in 2003 for his contributions to computing and education.
