Tetbury is a town and civil parish inside the Cotswold district in Gloucestershire, England. It lies on the site of an ancient hill fort, on which an Anglo-Saxon monastery was founded, probably by Ine of Wessex, in 681. The population of the parish was 5,250 in the 2001 census, increasing to 5,472 at the 2011 census. [2] .

The town of Tetbury, or Royal Tetbury as it has come to be known, is an historic market town in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. Not so much the stereotypical Cotswolds stone houses here Situated on the site of an ancient hill fort and an Anglo Saxon monastery, the town has a population of around 5500 residents.
Tetbury is a Cotswold town of great architectural interest. It remains substantially the same as it was in the 16th and 17th centuries when it reached the height of its prosperity as a wool town. The picturesque Market House in the town centre of Tetbury is an immediate reminder of the history of the town.
