The Scotland Act 1998 (c. 46) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom which legislated for the establishment of the devolved Scottish Parliament with tax varying powers and the Scottish Government (then Scottish Executive).

After this result, the Scotland Bill was introduced in the UK Parliament in December 1997. It became law as the Scotland Act in November 1998. The Secretary of State for Scotland appointed a Consultative Steering Group (CSG) in November 1997. Its members were the major political parties in Scotland and other public groups and interests.
Human Rights Act 1998. The Human Rights Act 1998 (c. 42) is an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom which received royal assent on 9 November 1998, and came into force on 2 October 2000. [1] . Its aim was to incorporate into UK law the rights contained in the European Convention on Human Rights.
