Charles Gordon Carroll III (February 2, 1928 – September 20, 2005) was an American film producer. He is known for his work on Alien franchise (1979–1997). He also co-founded Brandywine Productions with David Giler and Walter Hill, a film company most famously associated with the Alien film series.

Gordon Carroll is the author of the best selling Gil Mason series which includes the following books: Sheepdogs, Hair of the Dog, Feral Instinct, Sleeping Dogs, Old Dog New Tricks, A Dog Returns, Dog Eat Dog. He is also the author of Gunwood USA and Bonehill.
The school was founded by Bennett Cerf, a Random House editor and well-known television personality, Gordon Carroll, an occasional editor for Reader's Digest, and Albert Dorne, an illustrator whose school, the Famous Artists School, owned Famous Writers. It began operations in 1961, based in Westport, Connecticut.
