In a world where most great tube amps are at least $1200, many of them $2k+, I kind of appreciate being able to throw down $300 to $400 and get a solid amp like the XXX. It's a quirky amp, but dialed in right it gets a mean metal tone.

If you’ve ever played any all-tube EL34 and four 12ax7 high gain amp made by Peavey, this is usually the norm. Aside from the standard gain adjustment, three band EQ and resonance and presence controls, the Triple XXX II boasts a new “ FAT ” switch to do just that; make your sound FATTER than anything else on stage!
The Peavey Triple XXX is a 120 watt all tube head powered by 6L6 power tubes. It's a three channel head that was designed as a modern high gain amp to compliment the more stripped down 5150 line. It features Clean, Crunch and Ultra channels, each with its own gain and EQ controls as well as a master EQ section.
An amp not for the faint of heart, it comes loaded with practical features such as a high-gain input and paralleled speaker outputs. The XXX utilizes four 12AX7 preamp tubes and four 6L6GC power amp tubes. Power amp section can be converted to use four EL34 tubes.
