When talking about ORM, most people are referring to a library that implements the Object-Relational Mapping technique, hence the phrase "an ORM". Basically, in your application code, you are usually dealing with objects. But in your database, you have tables. An ORM is a library that maps between the two.
3 de mai. de 2017 · It automatically maps returned data into objects, even a dynamic object. You can add extensions that will insert, update, etc without the need for SQL. So you can build it up to more closely emulate a full ORM. Once you start using it, you'll be shocked how you lived without it. It should ship with the .NET framework.

Estritamente falando a única função que um ORM deve ter é o mapeamento do modelo de dados encontrado no banco de dados (relacional) para o modelo encontrado na aplicação (orientado a objeto). A fonte de dados não precisa ser necessariamente um banco de dados, principalmente não precisa ser relacional, mas isso é o mais comum.

I usually use SQLAlchemy. It's pretty powerful and is probably the most mature python ORM. If you're planning on using CherryPy, you might also look into dejavu as it's by Robert Brewer (the guy that is the current CherryPy project leader). I personally haven't used it, but I do know some people that love it.
