    You must create a primary iCloud email address on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or iCloud.com before you can use iCloud Mail. For an overview of what you can do with Mail and iCloud, see Send and receive iCloud Mail on all your devices and keep Mail settings up to date.

    If you already have an @icloud.com (or an @me.com or @mac.com) email address, see Set up iCloud Mail on all your devices.

    When you create a primary iCloud email address, you can choose from suggestions based on your Apple ID and name. You can also edit the suggested address to whatever you’d like, as long as it’s more than three characters and currently available.

    Note: You can’t rename your primary iCloud Mail email address later. If you change your mind, you can add an email alias instead.

    1.On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.

    2.Tap iCloud Mail (or Mail), then follow the onscreen instructions.

    1.On your Mac, do one of the following:

    •macOS 13.3 or later: Choose Apple menu > System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, then click iCloud. Below Apps Using iCloud, click iCloud Mail, then turn on Sync this Mac.

    •macOS 13 to 13.2: Choose Apple menu > System Settings, click [your name] at the top of the sidebar, click iCloud, click iCloud Mail, then click Turn On.

    •macOS 12 or earlier: Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Apple ID, click iCloud, then select iCloud Mail (or Mail).

    2.Follow the onscreen instructions to create an iCloud Mail address.

    If you don’t see onscreen instructions after turning on iCloud Mail on your Mac, you already have a primary iCloud email address.

    1.Go to icloud.com/mail and sign in with your Apple ID.

    2.Click Create Email Address, then follow the onscreen instructions to create an iCloud Mail address.

    If you see an inbox instead of Create Email Address, you already have a primary iCloud Mail address.

    After you set up your @icloud.com email address, you can use it to sign in to iCloud.com and your devices in addition to your Apple ID. See Use your Apple ID with iCloud.
