Peter Leslie Shilton CBE (born 18 September 1949) is an English former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. His 31-year career included spells at 11 clubs and he has the unique distinction of playing over 1,000 English league games, including in excess of 100 for five different clubs.
Peter is regarded as the one of the greatest Goalkeepers in the World winning him numerous honours and awards. Peter was awarded an MBE then an OBE by the Queen and is a global Ambassador for Seattle Sports.
The gap of 19 years and 224 days between his first and last games are the second-most in England’s history. - When he appeared on his debut in November 1970, Shilton was England’s youngest goalkeeper (21 years, 68 days) since Alan Hodgkinson in May 1957.
