Ian Carmichael (1920-2010) was an English actor who worked in theatre, film and radio for seventy years. He was known for his roles as Private in Private's Progress, Bertie Wooster in The World of Wooster and Lord Peter Wimsey in the TV adaptations of Dorothy L. Sayers.
