The University of Pennsylvania, commonly referenced as Penn or UPenn, is a private Ivy League research university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States.
When applying to Penn, undergraduates are asked to choose one of the University’s four undergraduate schools (the College, Wharton, Penn Engineering, or Penn Nursing), or a coordinated dual-degree, accelerated, or specialized program that will serve as home base throughout their academic journey.
The University seeks to ensure that its students engage meaningfully with the world through courses, internships, and research projects; as well as through their majors and professional specializations.
