Steppenwolf foi uma banda de rock americana formada em São Francisco em 1967 por antigos membros da banda canadense The Sparrows. O nome da banda Steppenwolf foi influenciado pelo nome do livro O Lobo da Estepe (do original Der Steppenwolf), escrito por Hermann Hesse. [1]
Steppenwolf enjoyed worldwide success from 1968 to 1972, but clashing personalities led to the end of the core lineup. From 1980 to 2018, John Kay was the only original member involved, having been the lead singer since 1967.
