This was virtually on a par with Tata Sumo and a lot cheaper than the other cars in the mid-size segment. Actually, this was just an introductory offer, they were selling it below production cost.

Mated with the unit was a G-58 five-speed manual transmission. Even in the diesel-engined guise, the Qualis was supremely refined.
1 de nov. de 2009 · But as the revs build up, you realise that its losing power and its time to up-shift. With a full load of 10 passengers, the Qualis does feel very sluggish, but with minimum load the need for a more powerful engine is not felt. The A/C does take a load off the engine and this is very noticeable once you switch it on.

Albeit, the sophistication levels are no where near the Germans (they are getting there!).
Yes, the Qualis has a fantastic resale value, beyond the wildest imaginations. Its the overall package that stands out. Leave aside the looks (nuff said about that), there is simplicity in every aspect of the car. 150k kms on horrendous roads and not a peep from the suspension, no body rattle, bulletproof engine.

I've tried the usual way.. a ruler and a Qualis in plain view = driver thinking you're from a rival taxi company that's out to deflate his tires. :| For what it's worth, I love how black rims look on my Zen, and I'm thinking of using the Qualis' stock rims on my car until I decide on alloys.
29 de mai. de 2011 · On Road Price: ~Rs. 5,70,000. 2000-2004: 1,00,000 km. The next four years passed with Dad serving as an auditor which required a number of trips outside Jaipur. Every Monday the Qualis would be loaded to the roof. Usually 4-5 Colleagues and their week's luggage.
1 de set. de 2007 · What struck me was that panel for panel the damn thing is an EXACT copy of the Qualis except for the front and the rear. Is this why Toyota stopped the Qualis altogether - because they'd sold the dies of the erstwhile Kijang (our Qualis) to ICML? If you recall, the Sonalika chap had talked about exports at the launch of the new 100 bhp Rhino.
10 de mai. de 2023 · We drove it to 3,90,000 kms and sold it off in 2015. In 2015, we bought a 2008 Type 2 Innova GX which had already clocked 1,90,000 kms, and it has done 2,60,000 kms now as I write this. In the same year, we also bought a 2008 pre-owned Hyundai Santro exclusively for me to learn and get used to driving.
17 de dez. de 2009 · Im using Bridgestone Ponteza GIII on my qualis and this was the second time i opted for these. But my qualis has also run alot , around 1.4L KMs and we have changed the tyres a total of 3 times, then how is it that your stock tyres lasted 1.2L kms?
