Propofol is EXTREMELY fast on/off, so although you'll be a bit lightheaded from not eating, you won't be extremely dizzy. Depending on the endoscopy suite they may even give you some juice / cookies afterward. 1.
25 de abr. de 2022 · Another great experience with Propofol here. I was so worried to be put to sleep against my will, but those worries were completely unnecessary. The doctor gave me the Propofol, I felt a pleasant tingling. I counted to 10, told the doctor that I am still awake. The doctor said “Oh”, and that’s the last thing I remember.

But if you are coming up on your first colonoscopy and especially if you, like me, are afraid of propofol, this story might help you. Low fiber diet, last food at 9:00 PM two days before the procedure.
18 de out. de 2023 · Propofol causes strange memory loss for a few hours. The night after my afternoon colonoscopy, I literally forgot how to flush the toilet. Like, I knew that I had previously known how, and I was certain that I’d know again, but I could not remember that I needed to move my arm down so my finger could push the lever.

31 de dez. de 2021 · gremlinsstore. • 3 yr. ago. I much prefer propofol, no benzo. The last time I had an endoscopy, they didn’t use propofol and instead used conscious sedation (versed + Demerol). Completely average doses, not unusually high or anything. I slept for 19 hours when I came home and then was dopey/sleepy the entire next day.

Titrate in narcotics to RR 10 to 14 and ETCO2 for healthy adults without respiratory comorbidities of around 45-50. Healthy Pt will be fully awake within 6 min of last dose of prop.
20 de out. de 2023 · I’ve been under Propofol a few times recently and each time have had some unpleasant side effects after recovery, mostly restlessness and agitation, that takes a few hours to dissipate. The anaesthetist seems a bit surprised at my side effects as Propofol leaves the body very quickly.
