Finally while scouring the internet for an older version - 3.3.6.2752 (as this version worked well earlier and confirmed this via a colleague who was still on this version) I came across this post and voila! rolling back to this old ...

By default, OpenVPN routes all network packets destined for the remote network on which the VPN server resides, through the VPN. Unfortunately, accessing the file server through the VPN is extremely slow! Question:

Hi, Profiles on OpenVPN are just configuration files, you can copy all the config files from "C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config" folder to somewhere for backup. This is what I think you were asking.
12 de out. de 2016 · I have a server with 2 real NIC and 1 virtual NIC (tun0) created by OpenVPN. eth0 is LAN - IP 192.168.2.1 eth1 is Internet - IP is public internet IP tun0 is created by openvpn What I need is that clients that connect to VPN server over eth1 will also get access to eth0 network, eg. will be able to connect to 192.168.2.21

If your VPN setup is over a wireless network, where all clients and the server are on the same wireless subnet, add the local flag: push "redirect-gateway local def1". Pushing the redirect-gateway option to clients will cause all IP network traffic originating on client machines to pass through the OpenVPN server.

The 1st forces Windows to prefer the configured DNS server over any other it may have received from DHCP.
With Access Server you just go to the web interface and log on as a user. Then you download server-locked, user-locked, or auto-login profile. That's it. Those are the 3 typos of files you can import into the OpenVPN client. But do note that the server-locked profile only works with OpenVPN Connect for Windows and macOS.

11 de jul. de 2023 · This is intended in OpenVPN Core 3.8 that comes with OpenVPN Connect 3.4. There are certain options that should not be used that are still being used by people. You should look in the log which options those are and then try removing them from the config or solving the underlying problem.
