The Kindle Cloud Reader is an Amazon web page, but I understand it does install an html5 application and uses some form of sql database. At a minimum, it creates a hierarchy of 10 or so folders each with 10 or so subfolders under an Offlinecache folder in Firefox Portable.

I could read my books on the Kindle Cloud, but when trying to sync with the Kindle app on my iPhone it would never sync - or vice versa. Rebooted phone, ensured whispersync was enabled on amazon site and on iphone, removed book from iphone and redownloaded, etc.

If still not functioning properly do a factory reset ( all stored data/apps/etc. will be deleted). Link below will provide step by step instruction to factory reset.
