given the amount of demand there is for the compiler, Jon should simply charge money for it. sure they probably won't make a large amount, but the Jai programming language isn't simply a language, it's also a game engine so they could be highly competitive with the likes of Unreal over time. 0 16. u/DustinGadal.

I can’t think of a reason why you should, I personally went full Zig, I don’t know enough about Jai’s current state to compare it’s development progress with Zig, but I seriously doubt it’s on par with Zig’s platform support, features and the general stability.
Game designer Jonathan Blow has been working on a language called Jai, intended to replace C++ especially for game development. He has been streaming his work on it for years now, but AFAIK there's no publicly available compiler out there. As someone who's not very knowledgeable on languages I've seen this introduction and found it pretty cool.
16 de mar. de 2022 · Jai is about generating high-level code that has a close as possible mapping to machine code. I hear optimising compilers for C are famously small because the language has a close mapping to machine code. Obligatory Bakerposting too, cause I can't wait to hear about the first CVE for some software written in Jai.
22 de jul. de 2023 · That's probably about right, 2025 for full/public release. JAI direct should be happening in a few months. And there are ~2-5 feature refactors that I am aware of remaining. Structured tags, poltmotphosm experiment, and macro refinement come to mind. A few months!
4 de out. de 2020 · If you're coming to India, skip the "Jai Bhole Ki". It's not how we greet each other, and it is mostly a Hindu thing to say, which leaves out like a quarter of the nation. It means "Glory to Bhole". Bhole is another name for Lord Shiva, one of of the many Gods and Goddesses of Hinduism. I know it's fun and all, but it is cringe.

Tweet : Today we: * Shipped the 31st beta of the compiler for the new programming language. * Sent out another 20+ beta invites, which should roughly double the size of the closed beta, depending on who accepts the invites. Pretty good day! You can tell he cares about quality, 31 beta releases and only 40 beta testers.

23 de ago. de 2022 · Jai has no release date. I have been waiting since 2011 or 2012. So, a decade. DON'T wait for closed-source Jai. Opt for Rust + Bevy instead. Modern dev style, inherent parallelism and ECS, a very fast graphics lib, as well as proven-safe code on compile. It's also built for rapid iteration... once you familiarise with Rust, of course.
