So, i decided to replace the whole distributor with a new one. After searching the market they told me that there is one for the 1.1 ie engine. It was a Marelli ditributor with cost about 130 Euros. I bought it and the replacement was easy with instructions from Haynes manual.

22 de ago. de 2006 · 1. Replaced the vacuum advance unit (side of dizzy) 2. Checked the vacuum pipes for leaks - as best I can. 3. Put injector cleaner in the petrol. 4. Changed plugs/cleaned dizzy cap/rotor arm. Car: Fiat Uno 1.0 ie 1993.
First thing you need to do is to remove the steering wheel, steering column shroud, indicator stalk and instrument cluster. Make sure all the wires are disconnected. Undo the choke cable at the carburetor and let the cable hang in front of the firewall. You will be pulling this through when you remove the dashboard.

Wired in a relay to the coil for the orange wire that powers up the coil from ignition switch. Orange wire from Ignition switch goes through the relay then out to coil. 4.

After parking the car for a few minutes I went to drive away and couldn't select 1st gear. 2nd,3rd,4th & 5th were easier to get, reverse was impossible without grating the gears. I immediately suspected the clutch hydraulics.

It looks like the water is dripping down on the left hand side of the engine near the crankshaft pulley area once the system gets up to operating temperature. I cannot really see the source as the camshaft covers are on the left side of the engine.
