If you've set up 2FA on your account, you won't be able to authenticate using your GitHub password from the terminal. Now, attempt to push to a GitHub repo to trigger a need for authentication. In VSCode look on the bottom left, if you see this, you might not be signed in: Click the icon, and follow the prompts to sign in, then CoPilot should work. Try closing and reopening your IDE (e.g. vscode), that may also help.
This Github document reads:. The https:// clone URLs are available on all repositories, public and private.. But since you are trying to access a private repository, authentication is required.
If the GitHub repo has seen new commits pushed to it, while you were working locally, I would advise using: git pull --rebase. git push. The full syntax is: git pull --rebase origin main. git push origin main. With Git 2.6+ (Sept. 2015), after having done (once) git config --global pull.rebase true.

31 de ago. de 2023 · I applied for Github student authentication on August 23, 2023. I uploaded the picture of my student card as verification material but wasn't approved at that time. On August 28, 2023, I uploaded the picture of proof of enrollment provided by the school as supporting material, and the image was approved.

My solution is to open C:\Users\<your computer name>\AppData\Local\github-copilot\hosts.json (replace by your computer name) and you will see file hosts.json Delete all data in this file and try to log in Github Copilot by IntelliJ. You must delete this file data every time you reopen the IDE.
5 de ago. de 2022 · I have to restart my IDE, then go to tools->GitHub copilot: 1- restart IDE. 2- got to "tools" -> "GitHub copilot" -> "login to GitHub". 3- it will show you a popup with code, click on copy and open to add and trust your device. Wow, they really dropped the ball on this UX. Thanks!
GitHub: If you have a student account or want to pay for $7 monthly, GitHub has the biggest community and you can take advantage of it's public repositories, forks, etc. Bitbucket: If you use other products from Atlassian like Jira or Confluence , Bitbucket works great with them.
