28 de abr. de 2022 · The catch or hang up that people are hitting is when they try to use "Docker Desktop" on Ubuntu (instead of directly on macOS). This tries to run a nested virtualization scenario and Apple does not have this instruction set available on the M1 series of Apple Silicon devices.
1 de jun. de 2018 · Installing Ubuntu Desktop for arm64 using Ubuntu Server ISO. At the end of the installation, you will have Ubuntu Server installed without any GUI. To install Ubuntu Desktop, log in and run: $ sudo apt update $ sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop $ sudo reboot
Scroll down on the page you used to see the file sizes. 32 bit Ubuntu 16.04 for the desktop is listed as 1.4G. I suggest attempting to use the torrent file available on the same page as I've heard it's a bit more reliable [ubuntu-16.04-desktop-i386.iso.torrent] If system requires 32 bit, you probably need Lubuntu or Xubuntu.
6 de mai. de 2018 · If you install the program package ubuntu-desktop into this system (during or after installing the minimal ubuntu system), you will get Ubuntu with its standard desktop. But since it is not part of the official releases, it is not debugged, and there may be things that do not work correctly.
11 de mai. de 2012 · I want to download Ubuntu 12.04, but it seems to take a long time, i.e. 1 day via Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. Can you suggest an alternative way to download it faster (e.g. 2 hours)??
3 de ago. de 2014 · Other desktop meta-packages are xubuntu-desktop, ubuntu-gnome-desktop, lubuntu-desktop, and edubuntu-desktop. Note: as default, apt install will also install all the recommended packages. Having recommended packages is usually desired for desktop users, but it may be undesired on a server since it's a lot of additional stuff.

The next few steps are similar to those for Xfce: # Block ACPI features, which cause issues in WSL2, from being installed with Gnome. sudo apt-mark hold acpid acpi-support. sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop xrdp.
23 de set. de 2022 · I've tried numerous times to download the Ubuntu 22.04 iso file to both a Ubuntu 22.04 desktop and to a windows 10 notebook. The download begins normally but partway through it stops with the following message: "ubuntu-22.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso failed".
11 de jun. de 2022 · With all that in mind, the idea of "installing Server" on top of (or even replacing) Desktop doesn't really make much sense. Once you've installed either Server or Desktop, there's nothing that prevents you from installing any package in the Ubuntu repositories. So if there's a daemon that you want, just install it under Desktop -- It will work ...
