First, please accept my apologies for this inconvenience. Obviously, your free license will not expire. This is a known issue that has already been addressed by the development teams and they confirmed a fix has been deployed. However, being a rolled out update, the fix has not yet reached the entire userbase.
Since update today (9:27 GMT) - maybe even since yesterday - Bitdefender Free blocks all sites without proper certificate (self signed). Using link 'I know...' doesn't work at all or only parts of site appear (both Firefox und Chrome). I put the sites on Exclusion list, no change.
If this were an environment that the User could choose to launch, it would indeed be a replacement for the rescue CD. My confidence in bitdefender is not sufficient to rely on this feature only being exposed if an infection has been detected. Once upon a time, sadly years ago now, I would recommend bitdefender to colleagues, Family and Friends.
Based on my findings, you still have a Bitdefender Antivirus Free license active in your Central account since July last year. The free version does not requie a subscription and does not have an expiration date.
When I click on the red bitdefender icon, or right click on the icon and select Open, this pops up: "Communication with bitdefender Security Service failed to be initiated. To retry connection, please click the button below." I can not find a phone number or email address for bitdefender and have found no way to open a chat. Please help!
Bitdefender Should ve it's own driver updater like many other top notch security solutions e.g. avast one . it's pretty hard to find each driver from it's parent website as other sources can not be considered as safe. 2. Bitdefender Antivirus Free Edition will warn (through the web browser) when you try to connect to a non-safe website, and you will be able to proceed at your own risk. It will also detect and quarantine any malware you download.
