31 de mar. de 2020 · Introducing YouGlish, a very useful tool for practicing pronunciation using YouTube You can search any word or phrase combination and YouGlish searches through more than 50M transcripts (closed captions, subtitles) of YouTube videos and plays that word or phrase as it's spoken by real people in context.
23 de ago. de 2023 · Youglish is great tool and I have been using it extensively but it has its limitations. If some combination of words is not available on YT then Youglish is not helpful at all. You can always look for the pronunciation of individual words but sometimes I find a combination hard to pronounce so I use Youglish for it. But it is not always available.
There is an option on Youglish and they've written this under it: To get more context, sometime it may be useful to start the player a few seconds before the search result track. For example when I search for the word "sanguine", the engine finds it in a line but I want the video to start 10 seconds before that line to know what is the context.

Just found this great resource: YouGlish searches through YouTube videos for pronunciation of a particular word or phrase and sets up a playlist cued up to the right spot -- so you can hear it over and over by different speakers! Can even narrow by dialects for mainland China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong.
29 de ago. de 2020 · I had been hoping this site would add Japanese so I'm really glad to so this. It's already much better than forvo because you can find real examples, they have context, and you don't have to wait for someone to specifically upload words.
