The PS2 Bios on the top (the mediafire link) is linked to malware. If you care enough to do a Virustotal scan, you may end up seeing that it's filled with malware. To deal with this malware, take out the hard drive (or SSD) and just buy a new one.
17 de jul. de 2014 · A BIOS inclui os arquivos rom1.bin, rom2.bin, erom.bin e um SCPH-XXXXX.nvm, sendo que XXXXX é a revisão de sua BIOS (ex: SCPH-34004.nvm). Ess último arquivo também pode ser criado pelo PCSX2 após você ter configurado sua BIOS (definir fuso horário, idioma etc.), mas é melhor se você obtiver esse arquivo extraído de seu Playstation 2.

He linked me to this site called Myrient. However, as soon as I tried to pick the top option from this long list of BIOS zip files, it downloaded as a VLC media player file.

It's completely illegal to download a bios from the internet (even if you actually own a PS2), and no one here will tell you where to do that, so don't ask. They will, however, all be happy to point you to the above link on dumping the bios from your PS2 (which unfortunately requires modding your PS2), as that's the normal and the legal method of obtaining a PS2 bios.

It should cover everything you need to get the ps2 working on a computer. Scroll down to the bottom and you should see where it's titled "BIOS(Basic Input Output System)." 22 de dez. de 2020 · Yes, bios are specific to PS2 consoles. But like anything else, they can be dumped and shared. You can use almost any PS2 bios with PCSX2. The only one the developers suggest not use is the very first one.
