5 de jan. de 2021 · It's not a virus, but the Overwolf Browser takes up resources and it's a waste, so it's bloatware. Click the up arrow in the Taskbar and right-click the wolf logo, then click close at the bottom. As someone who teaches courses on Malware, I would comfortably categorize this as a Malware.
6 de jul. de 2022 · I see lots of people on this subreddit accusing Overwolf of being bloatware or spyware. But I personally can't find any actual evidence of this. If you have a look at what others claim, you'll see that none of them ever give actual proof of their claims. I have never had any issues with Overwolf hogging system resources.
29 de jan. de 2024 · Overwolf is an app development platform, it's an engine that can run some sort of "enhanced web apps" and integrate them into games. By itself it's completely harmless, and thus not bannable. It's the content, the apps, that matter, and DotaPlus does nothing to give you any sort of unfair advantage, not before, during or after the draft, so it shouldn't be bannable.
15 de dez. de 2022 · Overwolf has called it the CurseForge App. I don't think any of them actually called it a "Launcher" (just "App") since they all have pulled up the vanilla launcher to actually launch the game. IIRC this is how Mojang has asked modded launchers to handle it (keep all account log-in stuff in Mojang's launcher/code).
10 de dez. de 2022 · I have Overwolf installed on Win 11 and I'm playing League of Legends. When I'm in a game, I see the microphone icon shown in the bottom right corner in Windows (near the clock). When I mouse-hover this icon, it says Apps using your microphone: Overwolf OBS helper. Is there a way to stop Overwolf OBS helper from using my microphone?

30 de jun. de 2021 · I checked my task manager and saw that Overwolf would use up to 30% of my CPU when it first opens, and when I expanded it it says there are 9 Overwolf browser tasks. And also when I open a game through Overwatch (mostly Minecraft) the CPU usage jumps to 100% for a little and then goes back down. It also uses up more RAM than it is supposed to.
