11 de jul. de 2020 · I’m only asking because I’m currently using Xenia to play Real Steel, i was a huge fan of all the games and the movie as a kid and I’ve gotten it to run on my pc just fine, I’ve tried turning the resolution up, didn’t notice a difference with that but I did notice that the robot glows don’t work with Vulkan and there is no detailed way that I’ve found on how to switch.
3 de abr. de 2023 · CaptRobau. •. Xenia, the Xbox 360 emulator, doesn't have a Linux version. So until now you had to play this emulator through Windows if you wanted to play it on your Steam Deck. Recently there have been advancements in getting Xenia Canary to work through Proton, so that you don't need to use Windows.
15 de ago. de 2022 · Really depends on your PC, for me and my specs that's Xenia Canary build. I just checked and RPCS3 (the PS3 emulator) does have the Skip Intro patch just like Canary does, both have FSR (which is a nice upscaling/anti-aliasing feature). Pros for RPCS3? A very nice UI + auto updates. Cons? Requires a nice CPU which I don't have right now.

23 de jul. de 2022 · Reply. Artex08. • 2 yr. ago. Maybe your config just bugged out… take a look at your appdata folder (in the local / roaming sub folders), there should be a Xenia folder. Just delete it to reset your config. No worries, it should re-build the folder including the config from scratch. (Had a similar issue a few months ago).
go to the folder you have xenia or dolphin in, right click the empty space in the folder > new > text document. Then name that document "portable" and hit enter (it will show as "portable.txt" if you have view extensions on). Now when you boot up xenia or dolphin it will create and use the config files inside that folder. Works with GZDoom aswell.
23 de dez. de 2022 · So I downloaded Xenia Canary, pulled the game off the 360, and got to work. Had the initial white screen issue fixed by changing scribble_heap to true. Works like a charm! Only mild issues here and there which I tried changing a few things here and there to try and fix them.
Now Xenia Canary it's working (at least on SteamOS 3.5) with dx12 so here they are the steps: Go to Desktop Mode, in Xenia folder (within emudeck folder), open xenia-canary.config.toml with Kate, search for the line 209 and change that gpu = "any" for gpu = "d3d12". Yes, it's that easy now, now Gears of War 3 doesn't crash and work flawlessly too.
Which is the go-to? For awhile I believe the Xenia team in general was suggesting to use the canary build. This was some time ago and I’m unsure if it was specific to a particular situation. Normally I do use nightles or development builds on all my emulators, but with Xenia, Xenia canary is something different. It’s classified as a fork.
