22 de out. de 2013 · On two different occations I've experienced that Mikrotik units connected to a WAN network (with Ether1) does not show when refreshing the Neighbors list in Winbox. If I enter the unit's IP-address, I'm able to connect to it and manage it. Units are hAP ac lite and 951-2n.

Since you can connect to them via MAC using winbox and dhcp client works quite well. Or it used to. WinBox 4 refuses to connect to a device that has no IP assigned.
6 de set. de 2011 · If it is not, winbox discovery will show the mac address. The only thing that might be the case is that if the PC and router are on the same subnet and also have the same IP. Thus we have a conflict. Sometimes winbox doesn't shown anything in that case, sometimes it does show the mac.. Change the IP of your PC.

3 de nov. de 2023 · New (ish) with Mikrotik and experimenting with several LHGs and a LHGG. The LHGs (latest Router OS and LTE firmware) randomly seem to lose connection to Winbox (ironically still ping and route to internet on the same client device), then don't even appear in the Neighbourhood scan. This can be resolved by resetting to defaults and re-config but ...

Using Linux and Wine, you can force a "theme" for a Wine prefix. You then run Winbox inside that prefix. The theme can override any colors you want.
23 de mar. de 2013 · Where does Winbox store it's configuration files? I mean the list of the sites so I can click easy. Is it a separate file, or does it store in the executable? I am getting a new computer and I need to transfer the old Winbox to the new computer. Is it enough to just copy winbox.exe to the new computer and it will work?
16 de jul. de 2019 · The normal way to solve this, is using tab "Neighborgs" in WinBOX and see if the hAP ac2 appears. You must be on the same LAN (level 2), no router in between. Then click the MAC address instead of the IP address, and connect via the MAC address. Use the MAC connect until the IP problem is fixed.
