Obtaining an Steam Web API Key. All use of the Steam Web API requires the use of an API Key. You can acquire one by filling out this form. Use of the APIs also requires that you agree to the Steam API Terms of Use.
Publisher Web API keys provide access to sensitive user data and protected methods. These keys are intended to be used for Web API requests that originate from secure publisher servers. The keys must be stored securely, and must not be distributed with a game client.
