Spark Mandrill is a large Reploid, being the second-tallest of the Maverick bosses in Mega Man X behind Flame Mammoth. His armor is mostly brown in color, and he has the face of a mandrill, complete with their signature blue snout. He has a hunchbacked posture, with giant shoulders and wrists decorated with colorful lights. Spark Mandrill is a simp...

Spark Mandrill was a Maverick Hunter that served in the 17th Elite Unit, directly under Sigma's command alongside X and Zero. When Sigma started his rebellion, Mandrill blindly followed his boss and joins him in the destruction, being labelled a Maverickfor it. Spark Mandrill is ordered to take over a power station to secure an energy source for Sigma's forces and cut off power to cities. Because there is only light resistance, Mandrill leaves his Mechaniloid soldiers to hold the fort while h...

A digital reconstruction of Spark Mandrill appeared in the Mother Computer as an obstacle to X in Normal Mode. He was also available for a rematch in Mega Man Xtreme 2's Boss Attack mode.

Spark Mandrill deals heavy damage with his electricity and deceptively fast movement. He is good at covering the walls with his Electric Spark and climbing, and can even shake the player down with his punches. However, he is infamously weak to Shotgun Ice, which can totally immobilize him in a loop of breaking out of ice when timed correctly.

    Other appearances

    1. Spark Mandrill appears in the remake, Mega Man Maverick Hunter X. 2. Spark Mandrill appears in the X Challenge, where he is fought alongside Bubble Crab or Rainy Turtloid. 3. In Rockman ×over, Spark Mandrill is one of the four bosses from World 1. 4. Spark Mandrill appeared in TEPPEN. Thousands of years ago, during the age of the lost civilization, he was the guardian of the Third Energy, which gave him an endless supply of electricity.

    Mega Man

Spark Mandrill appeared with Vile in the "Mega X" episode from the Mega Man animated series. He only speaks three lines in the whole episode, so he doesn't get much personality. When he does speak, he uses a Russian accent. Like Vile, he's depicted as being more than a match for every robot in the present, with Mega Man being unable to even damage him. He was, however, no match for Mega Man X. Spark Mandrill was also shown to be able to paralyze both Mega Man and Roll.

    Rockman X

Spark Mandrill also appears in the Rockman X manga, where he is the second Maverick fought by X. While he initially overwhelms X with his Electric Spark and sheer strength, he is startled when he is struck clean by Chill Penguin's Shotgun Ice. Realizing X was the reploid who would bring them into the future, Spark Mandrill immediately cowered, offering to surrender, mend his ways, and reveal Sigma's location. Before he could reveal anything, however, Sigma used a holographic machine to kill h...

Spark Mandrill would be among those that joined Vile's Maverick rebellion alongside Chill Penguin, Launch Octopus, and Sting Chameleon. After Sting Chameleon's defeat, he overran a powerplant, causing several outages in Hunter Base. Sigma would order both X and Boomerang Kuwangerto defeat Spark Mandrill and retake the powerplant, but Boomerang Kuwanger uses X as a distraction to ambush Spark Mandrill. Despite this, it is revealed that Spark Mandrill had come prepared, and Chill Penguin would...

Spark Mandrill can be easily defeated with Shotgun Ice, as launching another shot after Spark Mandrill thaws will simply refreeze him, allowing him to be defeated without him doing a thing. This ex...
