Rutger Oelsen Hauer (born Dutch: [ˈrʏtxər ˈulsə(n) ˈɦʌuər]; 23 January 1944 – 19 July 2019) was a Dutch actor, with a film career that spanned over 170 roles across nearly 50 years, beginning in 1969.

Começou a carreira de ator como o protagonista da série de TV neerlandesa Floris. Ficou conhecido com o filme de 1982, Blade Runner, dirigido por Ridley Scott.
Hauer was born in Breukelen, a Dutch town and former municipality in the province of Utrecht. He was the son of Teunke Hauer (née Mellema) and Arend Hauer, actors who operated an acting school. As his parents were often touring, he and his three sisters were raised by a nanny.
