  2. Michael Mosoeu Moerane (* 1909 in Mangoloaneng, Kapkolonie; † 1981, nach anderen Angaben 1904–1980 [1]) war ein südafrikanischer Komponist und Chorleiter. Moeranes Vater stammte aus Basutoland, dem heutigen Lesotho. Moerane wurde am Lovedale Institute und an der Universität Fort Hare ausgebildet. In Lovedale begann er 1927 zu unterrichten.

Michael Mosoeu Moerane was born on 20 September 1904 in Mangoloaneng, a village in the Matatiele/Mount Fletcher district of the Eastern Cape, located in the larger region known as East Griqualand, or Transkei. He was one of seven children born to Eleazar Jacane and Sophia Moerane.

  6. SA Composers. Moerane, Michael. MOERANE, Michael Mosoeu. b. 20 September 1909. d. February 1980. Moerane received his schooling at the Lovedale Institute, then studied at Fort Hare. He taught thereafter at various high schools in Maseru, Gumtree and elsewhere.
