Alfonso II (4 November 1448 – 18 December 1495) was Duke of Calabria and ruled as King of Naples from 25 January 1494 to 23 January 1495. He was a soldier and a patron of Renaissance architecture and the arts. Heir to his father Ferdinand I's Kingdom of Naples, Alfonso held the dukedom of Calabria for most of his life.

Biografia. Nascido em Nápoles , Alfonso foi o filho mais velho de Fernando I de Nápoles por sua primeira esposa, Isabella de Clermont . Ela era filha de Tristan , Conde de Copertino e Caterina Del Balzo Orsini . Alfonso era primo de Fernando II de Aragão , rei de Aragão e primeiro governante ( co -) de uma Espanha unificada .
Charles VIII expelled Alfonso II of Naples from Naples in 1495, but was soon forced to withdraw due to the support of Ferdinand II of Aragon for his cousin, Alfonso II's son Ferrantino. Ferrantino was restored to the throne but died in 1496 and was succeeded by his uncle, Frederick IV .
