Das Wappen des Irak wurde offiziell 1965 eingeführt. Allerdings war bis 1992 die Teilung des Wappenschilds vertikal statt horizontal. Die Schreibung des 1992 eingefügten Schriftzugs „Allahu akbar“ wurde 2004 in kufische Schrift umgestellt. 2008 wurden die drei grünen Sterne entfernt.

22. Januar 2008. Die derzeitige Nationalflagge des Irak ist rot-weiß-schwarz horizontal gestreift, im weißen Feld zeigt sie in dunkelgrüner, arabischer Schrift in kufischer Schriftart die Inschrift „ Allāhu Akbar “ ( الله اكبر, deutsch: „Gott ist am größten“).

Le drapeau de l'Irak est le drapeau civil, le drapeau d'État et le pavillon national de la république d’Irak. Il est composé de trois bandes horizontales rouge (dessus), blanche et noire, reprenant ainsi les couleurs panarabes, frappées de la devise Allah akbar (« Dieu est [le] plus grand »).
