MOS 6502. The 6800 (" sixty-eight hundred ") is an 8-bit microprocessor designed and first manufactured by Motorola in 1974. The MC6800 microprocessor was part of the M6800 Microcomputer System (latter dubbed 68xx [1]) that also included serial and parallel interface ICs, RAM, ROM and other support chips.

In 2006, the Debian project was looking into making its m68k port compatible with the ColdFires, [2] as there are ColdFire models that can be clocked as high as 300 MHz. This is much faster than the 68060, which can officially reach 75 MHz [3] and can be overclocked to 110 MHz.
