Pontoise é uma comuna francesa na região administrativa de Île-de-France, no departamento de Val-d'Oise.
Pontoise is the official préfecture (capital) of the Val-d'Oise département, although in reality the préfecture building and administration, as well as the department council (conseil général), are located in the neighboring commune of Cergy, which is regarded as the de facto capital of Val-d'Oise.

Cergy-Pontoise est une ville nouvelle française construite à partir des années 1970 autour des communes de Cergy et Pontoise, dans le nord-ouest de la région Île-de-France. Le syndicat intercommunal créé pour la ville nouvelle a donné naissance à l'actuelle communauté d'agglomération de Cergy-Pontoise.
