Placentia is a town located in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It consists of the amalgamated communities of Placentia ("Townside"), Southeast Placentia, Freshwater, Dunville and Jerseyside and also includes the Argentia Industrial Park.

16 de set. de 2012 · Placentia, NL, incorporated as a town in 1945, population 3643 (2011c), 3898 (2006c). The Town of Placentia is located on PLACENTIA BAY on the west coast of the AVALON PENINSULA. The site, called Plaisance by the French, was a BASQUE fishing station in the late 1500s.
Placentia, town, southeastern Newfoundland, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It lies along the Avalon Peninsula and the east shore of Placentia Bay, 67 miles (108 km) southwest of St. John’s. Basque fishermen arrived in the 16th century and probably named the site for Plasencia, Spain.
Situated in a large deep bay on the east side of Placentia Bay and west side of the Avalon Peninsula in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Placentia is home to a current population of approximately 3289 people.
